Hi, I'm Rick Jankowski. Welcome to my website!
I love to write speculative and general fiction and my writing goals are connection with character, beauty of language, and sense of wonder.
Four years ago, I began putting pen to paper, and to my great surprise, small presses and literary magazines published two dozen of my fiction pieces. These stories have won several awards and The Storyteller magazine nominated two of them, The Edifice and The Deception, for Pushcart Prizes.
This site currently contains samples of my better stories. Alfred Klosterman, a professional artist, created the illustrations that accompany each story. I'll rotate different general fiction and science fiction pieces through here every couple months. You're invited to pull up close to your computer, click on the links to the left, and spend a few minutes with my characters.
